Narraghmore Vintage Club at the Ploughing

All the entrants took part in a tractor parade twice daily which ran smoothly when the congestion problems were evenutally solved. Tommy Bell restored a Massey 35X at the ploughing over the three days and it was up and ready to take part in the parade on day three. Thank you also to those other members who turned up at the stand that drove tractors when the owners were not able to attend. All in all it was a job well done by everyone and no doubt next year will be an opportunity for everyone to enter their tractors again and maybe a few ploughs, grubbers or harrows might be restored by then for inclusion with our display, so start digging in the ditches now and see what you can find.

A big thank you to everyone who brought their tractors to the Irish Vintage Society stand at the Ploughing Championships last week. Our Club was very well represented with tractors entered by Ross Kelly with his Massey 35 and restored trailer; Wayne King with his Ford 4000; Pat Berry with his Massey 65; Don Treacy with his Massey 135; Frank Bell with his Ford 2610 and Massey 165; John Treacy with his Massey 20 and his Grey & Gold; Benny O'Gorman with the Oldest Fordson; Tony Breen with his Fordson Dexta and Michael O'Brien with 11 of this David Browne collection. It was a spectacular display by our Club.

The Club was also represented by Colm Flynn who was promoting his new book, "A Tie To the Land" and also, John Forkin a local blacksmith who proved to be a major attraction to the spectators. Well done all round. The Main Buchailli at the Ploughing Championship Athy 2009
