Leslie Rothwell RIP

It was with sadness that I learned of the death of Leslie Rothwell, the President of the Irish Vintage Society on thursday last, the 15th October, following a short illness. Leslie from Inistioge in Kilkenny was involved with Inistioge Vintage Club for the past 40 years and his family  are integral in the running of the very successful Inistioge Vintage Festival every year and which many our members are familiar with. I only came to know Leslie since the inauguration of our own Club last March, but since then, I have worked very closely with him in both the setting up and running of our Club, but also in particular with the organisation of the Irish Vintage Society stand at the Ploughing Championships here in Athy. It was a pleasure and honour to work with Leslie and he was an absolute gentleman at all times whose passion for all things vintage and Irish tradition was very very strong. He will be a huge loss not only to his family, friends and his own Inistioge Club, but also to the Irish Vintage Society  and the vintage world as a whole.  On behalf of Narraghmore Vintage Club President, Committee and members, I wish to extend our deepest sympathy to his family, friends and associates.      May he rest in peace.
