Presidents Address 2009

Narraghmore Vintage Club is the brainchild of a number of enthusiasts and was founded in June of this year following on the success of the first Santa Vintage Run last Christmas.

From its inception, it has gone from strength to strength, raising money for local charities, namely St. Vincents Hospital Patient Comfort Fund and also, the Narraghmore Old Folks Christmas Party.

It has become a focal point for many, bringing the community together in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere.

The Club successfully displayed a number of tractors at the National Ploughing Championships at the invitation of the Irish Vintage Society to which we are affiliated.  It was a great honour for such a young Club to be invited to exhibit at such a prestigious event and indeed, it was a very enjoyable few days for everyone involved.   Of course we will all be back there again in Sept 2010.

As President of the Club, it gives me great pleasure to see so many young people interested in vintage vehicles and any time they put into fixing, polishing or preparing their vehicles is time well spent.

I would like to say a very sincere thank you to all the members and Committee Members who work tirelessly for the Club.

May I wish you all a very Happy and safe Christmas and look forward to meeting you all and any new members who would like to join our Club at our various events in 2010.
