Tractor Route

The Tractor route for the Santa Run 2009 is slightly modified from last year. It will leave narraghmore at 11am heading towards the Battlemount junction onto R415. At Old Grange Cross turn left towards Glaselly \ Ballindrum. Follow diversion signs right where local access roadworks are in place down the hill towards the moate of Ardscull. Take next left towards Inch. At next T junction turn right towards Forrest, Inch. Cross main road, N78 heading towards Ard More. Cross Kildare Road heading towards Monasterevin. Follow arrows closer from this point as you will be taking the second right towards Athy Monasterevin road R417. Cross R417 heading towards Milltown Bridge. After crossing Bridge turn left at the next T junction towards Athy. At next T junction with Athy \ Portlaoise road R428 turn left towards Athy passing Hospital. In town follow signposts for Dublin. Parkup in Shaws Car Park which is 20m on the left, past the first pedestrian lights at the Post Office.

Leg 2

Leave Athy via Main road towards Dublin. After Grave yard turn left onto Athy \ Kildare road. Follow this road out past golf club out a number of miles until you are directed right towards the Moate of Ardscull. Cross N78 heading towards Ballindrum and you will find yourself returning on the route you travelle earlier up through Ballindrum, Glasely, Old Grange, Battlemount towards Narraghmore Village.

Car Route

The meeting time is 10.00 a.m. in Narraghmore Village, where soups, teas and coffees will be available to warm everyone up after their drive up.

The route is Narraghmore to N9,South to Carlow via old road, thru castledermot; In Carlow town, turn right off Barrick St onto Kennedy avenue over Graiguecullen Bridge following the signs for Portlaoise; Out N80 thru Balickmoyler, Arles , Castletown to Newtown Cross roads. Turn right for Athy N78 thru Ballylinan. Stopping for refreshments in Athy in Shaws Car-Park before returning to Narraghmore. The catering committee are very busy planning to put on as good if not better a spread of food for everyone when you all get back to the Village. Needless to say, Molly O'Looneys will be the centre of the entertainment for the evening and late into the night.

Stop for refreshments at Shaws Car Park which is on the left 30 metres after Predestrian Lights at Post Office

62.00 Leave Shaws Carpark over bridge towards Dublin

62.39 At roundabout take the 1st exit onto Dublin Road - N78

72,00 Pass by junction of R415 sign posted for Kildare and Baltinglass

72.90 Turn right for Narraghmore at next junction.
